Helsinki Partners, the investment promotion agency for the Helsinki region in Finland, engaged FDI Center to develop a focused go-to-market plan for attracting investment from Canada.
The objective was to define priority sectors, identify key geographic markets, and establish a structured approach to engaging target investors in Canada.
FDI Center worked closely with Helsinki Partners to develop a practical and targeted investment attraction approach. During this time, we:
- confirmed sector priorities for investment attraction, including new materials, AI, green tech, and quantum technologies.
- conducted a detailed analysis of regional ecosystems to identify locations aligned with Helsinki’s competitive advantages.
- identified key geographic hubs across Canada for each priority sector, including both major cities and specialized regional clusters.
- developed a comprehensive go-to-market plan with specific steps for engaging target companies and multipliers in Canada.
- created a sequenced timeline of activities to guide implementation and support consistent investor outreach.
Based on this work, Helsinki Partners adopted a more focused and structured approach to investment attraction in Canada, with defined target locations, and a practical plan to guide engagement with potential investors.
