Indy Partnership, the regional economic development organization for the Indianapolis area in the United States, engaged FDI Center to strengthen its international activities with a greater focus on foreign direct investment attraction.
The objective of the project was to identify priority sectors and geographic markets for investment attraction and provide a clear, structured plan to pursue these opportunities.
FDI Center worked with Indy Partnership to develop a focused approach to international investment attraction. During this time, we:
- identified target groups for investment attraction to the Indianapolis region.
- developed detailed target group profiles, including company characteristics, growth trends and drivers, investment trends, advantages of the Indianapolis region, and an estimate of the number, type, and size of investment projects that could be attracted over a three-year period.
- identified priority international markets for investment attraction, with a focus on Europe, as well as priority clusters and regions within these markets.
- developed a structured action plan for each target group, with a 24-month timeframe, outlining specific steps to pursue investment opportunities.
- defined investor outreach channels, multipliers, and relevant events to support engagement with target companies.
- created a roadmap for visits to Europe, combining attendance at relevant conferences across multiple target groups.
Based on this work, Indy Partnership gained a clearer and more focused approach to international investment attraction, with defined priorities and a practical plan to guide implementation.
